[27]

27 times around the sun

since that July Hawaiian night

when we met at the Ilikai,

took a taxi to The Library,

and had our first drinks

—and our first kiss—of that evening

(how were we to know our first date

was to last three days?)

Now, if I were a rational romantic,

I might note we've since gone

15,846,840,000 miles together

on our trip around our little star.

But, the most rational I've been

in all that time

—and in all those miles—

was marrying you.
